Company Bios
REBECCA MOYER (co-founder) has a B.A. in Dance and a B.A. in Business Management from DeSales University and a M.F.A. in Dance Choreography from State University of New York-Purchase College. She has studied at various institutions, such as the Dance Theatre of Pennsylvania, Governor's School for the Arts, Philadanco, Point Park Summer Intensive, University of the Arts, Koresh School of Dance, Alvin Ailey School, Peridance, among many others. Rebecca has performed with Annex Dance Company, ContempraDance Theatre, ACTion Dance Touring Company, as a guest with the DanceGing Company in Allentown, and Penn State Abington Dance Company. Rebecca has choreographed for the DeSales University Dance Ensemble, Marywood Universtiy Dance Ensemble, Penn State Dance Company, Xtensions Dance Company, ACTion Dance Touring Company, and her works have been seen in various venues across the Pennsylvania and New York area, such as the Philadelphia Fringe Festival, Philadelphia Dance Fest, American College Dance Festivals and Gallery B in New York City. Rebecca has also had the opportunity to teach at various dance programs and dance studios in the Philadelphia and New York area, and is currently teaching at Marywood University, DeSales University and Lehigh Valley Charter High School for the Performing Arts.
KATIE KASARI (co-founder) received a B.A. in dance from DeSales University, and has studied at
various institutions in Scranton, Philadelphia and New York.
Katie danced with the Linn McDonald School of Dance for 13 years and has performed with the ACTion Dance Touring Company, the DanceGing Company in Allentown,
DeSales University Act One Theater, and as a soloist with Towne Playhouse in Philadelphia.
Her choreography has been showcased at American College Dance Festivals throughout the country, Philly
Fringe Festival, Philly Dance Fest, Etc Performance Series and Gallery B in NYC, among others.
Katie has taught dance at various schools and universities in the area and is currently on the staff of the Studio of Dance and Performing Arts
in Newtown, PA and Dance 360 in Willow Grove, PA.
DANIELLE BURCH grew up in Pennsylvania where she began her dance training locally at Kelly Richards' School of Dance in Warminster and Bucks County Dance Center in Bensalem. She went on to attend The University of the Arts, majoring in Graphic Design but still fit in as much dance as possible. Shortly after graduating with a BFA, she was hired at a Philadelphia design firm, Kelsh Wilson Design. Danielle currently trains at Koresh School of Dance where she has a new found love for hip hop. She has recently begun dancing with a new hip hop collective directed by Sammy Reyes. She also designed the company's logo and creates Vada's promotional materials!
CHRISTA CAMPBELL is originally from Wisconsin where she began her dance training locally in Madison as well as at various summer programs, including Virginia School of the Arts and the Joffrey Ballet. She went on to attend Point Park University in Pittsburgh, PA, graduating with a BA in dance. After graduating she moved to Indianapolis, IN to dance professionally with the Graham based modern dance company Dance Kaleidoscope. Christa then relocated to Philadelphia to pursue her dance career further. Christa has danced with ContempraDance Theatre based in Wayne, PA since 2004 and toured Poland with them during the summer of 2006. She has danced with Vada Dance Collective based in Philadelphia, PA since 2006, with Melange Contemporary Dance Company based in Pottstown, PA since 2009 and with 180 Dance Company based in West Chester, PA since 2009. She has also performed with REALM as a part of the World Dance Extravaganza, with Theatre Mama with which she helped promote the Cirque du Soleil show "KOOZA", with
Public Eye: Artists for Animals, with Indigenous Pitch Dance Collective and as a guest artist with the Schuylkill Valley Regional Dance Company (SVRDC). Christa has also appeared as a dance instructor in the TV commercial for Versa Fit Studio and has performed at a Pittsburgh Pirates game. Christa teaches at several area dance schools and is the co-director and choreographer for the ContempraYouth Dancers who performed in Disney in April 2008. Christa’s teaching credits include master classes and workshops for Cirque du Soleil, Marywood University and several local dance schools. In addition to the ContempraYouth Dancers her choreography has been performed by Melange Contemporary Dance Company, Public Eye: Artists for Animals and the Villanova Wildcat Dancers. Christa serves as publicity manager for ContempraDance Theatre and is on the Board of Directors for SVRDC.
SHANNON DOOLING began her dance training in her hometown of Bensalem, PA and later went on to study at Princeton Ballet School. In 2007, graduated Magna Cum Laude from DeSales University with a BA in Dance, where she appeared in works by Gerald Arpino and Sean Curran. Since 2005 she has been a guest dancer with Repertory Dance Theatre in Allentown, PA directed by Jennifer Haltzman-Tracy and Trinette Singleton. She made her professional debut with Stuart Loungway's Terra Firma Dance Theatre in New Jersey in fall 2007, and appeared as a guest with Annex Dance, directed by Kristin Fiesseler. In 2008, she joined EDP Dance Project, a modern company in New Jersey directed by Erin Pride. Shannon is on faculty at Repertory Dance Theatre and Totts Gap Arts Institute, and recently founded undertoe arts, a Lehigh Valley performing arts company. She had been dancing with Vada Dance Collective since January 2008.
KRISTA GRUNKLEE recently graduated from DeSales University with a B.A. in Dance. During her time at DeSales, she had the privilege of working with Eddie Taketa of Doug Varone and Dancers and Sean Curran. Krista was selected to choreograph for a DeSales' student produced show and created a site-specific work around campus. She attended the American Dance Festival where she performed in pieces set by Larry Keigwin of Keigwin and Co, Doug Elkins, and Stafford Berry. She is currently teaching at The Dance Centre in Skippack.
LINDSAY HARRIS is a graduate from The University of the Arts with a BFA in Jazz Performance. There she has worked with choreographers Crystal Frazier, Jennifer Binford- Johnson, Ronen Koresh, Molly Misgalla and Wayne St. David. Lindsay has performed at Atlantic City's Taj Mahal and New Jersey's Six Flags Great Adventure, where she was a choreographer for the 2008 season of Fright Fest. Currently Lindsay teaches and choreographs in the central New Jersey area.
DIANA JEWELL holds a Professional Diploma in Dance Studies from the Laban Centre for contemporary dance in London. While there, her choreography was one of seven student pieces chosen for public performance. She has also studied on scholarship with Philadanco's Training Company. More recently Diana has performed with Tammy McMullin and Dancers at the 2008 Philadelphia Fringe Festival, and presented her own choreography with Bryn Athyn College, Penn State Abington, and at Koresh Dance Company's September Artist Showcase. While continuing to present her own work, Diana performs locally as a company member with Dance Del Bello. She is enjoying her first season with Vada.
KATHLEEN KERNER graduated in May of 2007 from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro with a BFA degree in Dance Performance and Choreography. Kathleen was a member of Hoctor's Dance Caravan Company in the summers of 2004 and 2007, traveling around the United States performing and holding workshops. She was a member of the John Gamble Dance Theatre from 2004-2007, and performed with them numerous times in the North Carolina Dance Festival and the Fringe Festival. In the fall of 2005 she studied at the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts in Perth, Australia. In September 2008, Kathleen danced for Tammy Jean McMullin in the Philly Fringe Festival. Kathleen has been dancing for Contempra Dance Theatre, Plasma Dance Theatre and Melange Contemporary Dance Company.
LINDSAY MURRAY is a graduate of DeSales University where she earned her B.A. in Dance. She began dancing at age three at Dance Works in Quakertown, PA. As a student, Lindsay received a dance scholarship into the program and toured with the Dance Touring Company at DeSales. Her modern choreography was presented in the DeSales Young Choreographers Series, and Lindsay also danced a work created by professional choreographer, Sean Curran. She has performed at the American College Dance Festival and the Philadelphia Fringe. Lindsay attended the Pro-Danza Italia/USA Summer Dance Workshop in Italy and trained with dance professionals, Lynda Davis and Billy Siegenfeld. She has attended the Dance Teacher Summit and the Robert Battle Intensive in NYC. Lindsay teaches at various dance studios in the Philadelphia area and currently performs professionally with Vada Dance Collective and ContempraDance Theater. She has choreographed works for the ContempraDance Youth Ensemble, and the IDA Repertory Company.
Lindsay has held the position of Head Coach for the Temple University Diamond Gems Dance Team and has worked as a Health & Fitness Specialist for MediFit Corporate Services. She enjoys teaching Pilates, and has her AFAA Group Exercise Instructor certification. Lindsay is looking forward to pursuing her Masters Degree in School Counseling, with hopes of eventually working as a guidance counselor at a performing arts high school. She hopes to continue her dance career as an educator, performer, and choreographer for years to come.
STEPHANIE VASTA is a graduate of Penn State Abington where she earned a B.A. in Psychological and Social Sciences. During her four years at Penn State she participated in the University's dance company as a dancer and student choreographer, and after graduating she moved on to become one of the Company's Assistant Directors. Stephanie teaches at Carol Ann's School of Dance, the Abington YMCA and Stars Studio of Dance. She has performed around the country with New Vision Cirque and Dance Company and toured Poland in July 2006 with Contempra Dance Theatre, a modern-jazz company with which she has been performing professionally for five years.
